PATIALA: Punjabi University's Department of Religious Studies organised a national seminar on "Role of Religion in Personality Development" at the University's Senate Hall here on Tuesday.
Vice Chancellor, Dr Jaspal Singh presided over the seminar while Prof Ram Nanadan Singh, Professor from Jammu University, presented the keynote address, Dr Raja Ram Jain delivered Acharya Atma Ram memorial lecture.
In his address, Dr Jaspal Singh said that, by and large, today's youth was getting oblivious of our rich religious and cultural heritage, which was becoming the main source of prevailing sufferings. Though modern technology has facilitated the situation and circumstances for them to easily relate to the religious values, the overall societal system has been witness to degradation of values, he said.
Dr Rajinder Kaur Rohi and Dr Harpal Singh Pannu highlighted the activities and achievements of the department.
